Limited and numbered edition of which our copy is N: 66/200. The 12 pochoirs were executed by Jacomet, and are all well preserved in the original beige cloth folding case with pictorial title by Picasso. Total Edition : 200 copies + 26 copies H.C. Werner Spies and others authors. Publisher Verlag Gerd Hatje, 1965. One of 100 numbered copies, with a suite of 9 lithographs on Rives wove signed. The book is bounded in blue cloth cover, wrapped in a wove dust-jacket with an original lithograph by Picasso on the front depicting a face in cubist stile. The suite in a separate blue cloth folder, with title and copy number printed on the front. Conceived by Spies as a tribute for Daniel Kahnweiler in the occasion of his 80th birthday, the book assembles testimonials from notable authors and artists, retracing the lifelong career of this great art dealer. The book contains: Text reproduced in facsimile, mostly letters, by Apollinaire, Artaud, Braque, Derain, Gris, Jacob, Klee and many others. Many reproductions that illustrated the articles, and nine original lithographs, of which two by Picasso, one in the book and one printed on the jacket, both dated in plate June 12, 1964 (12.6.64). The separated suite contains: A set of the 9 lithographs printed on the book, loose and signed in pencil from the following artists: Andre Beaudin, Elie Lascaux, Sebastien Hadengue, Eugene de Kermadec, Andre Masson, Pablo Picasso (two lithographs), Suzanne Rogers, and Yves Rouvre. Lithographs printed by Mourlot. Both Books and Suite are in very good condition, preserved in slipcase. Parmelin, Helene. Paris, Editions Cercle d'art. 1965 4to. Full cloth, the cover printed in colors with a drawing after Picasso. One of the 150 DELUXE copies accompanied by one original etching signed in pencil by Picasso. The oblong etching, on Richard-de-bas wove paper, depict the view of an atelier with a large seated nude, the painter at work sitting, with a standing nude and the artist's dog, an Afghan hound, named Kabul. This book is the second volume of the series "Secret d'alcove d'un atelier". Fine condition. Ref: Cramer 130, Bloch 1139. SOLD

New York: The limited Edition Club, 1934 One of 1500 copies in Rives wove paper, bonded in the paperboard cover with a design after Picasso printed in color, in the original blue paperboard chemise, the slipcase is available but is in need of restoration. Signed in pencil by Picasso in the justification page. Picasso illustrated Aristophanes’ famous comedy, Lysistrata, translated in English by Gilbert Seldes, with 6 etchings in the same classical style, characterized by purity of line and balance of composition, which he used to illustrate Ovid’s Metamorphoses in 1931. The book is enriched by many lithographic drawings that interwoven with the text. In very good condition. SOLD

Portfolio with 13 of the 15 pochoirs (Daniel Jacomet) reproducing the wash drawings by Picasso, each numbered in pencil. The prints are loose, as issued, secured in the original portfolio, in red satin covers with a drawing after Picasso printed in black on the front, black satin spine, linen flaps and tie-strings. Complete of title page, colophon and text, all in very good condition, on velin d’Arches paper. The prints are also in very good condition, 3 of them were previously framed, and margins and back shows light signs of it. Rare Portfolio unfortunately with 2 missed prints, but in very good condition. Size: 22”x16” inches – 55x24 cm. SOLD

Editions Cercle d’Art Paris, 1966 Brown leather and cloth covered box, with gilt lettering on the spine, and with a color reproduction of Picasso’s signature on the front. Deluxe limited edition on 150 copies. This book is the last of three volumes of “Secrets d’alcove d’un atelier”. A loose linocut, with inverted date 16.2.66 in the plate, signed and numbered in pencil, accompanies the book. The print represents the portrait of the painter Edouard Pignon, the husband of Heleine Permelin. Very good and rare copy. REF: Cramer #134. SOLD
Cinq Sonnets de Petrarque.
La Fontaine de Vaucluse, MCMXLVII (Paris, 1947) With an original etching by Picasso (Bloch 370), translated in French by Luois Aragon. One of 100 copies on Arches wove of a total edition of 110. Each copy is inscribed with a different handwritten proverb by Louis Aragon, in lieu of his signature, and is numbered in ink by Aragon. This book includes five sonnets from the “Canzoniere” conceived and written by Francesco Petrarca after the death of his beloved Laura on 1348. Picasso’s etching for the book is a beautiful oval face surrounded by flowing hair, representing the idealized portrait of Laura, but it was the homage of Louis Aragon to Elsa Triolet, a Russian he met in 1928 after a suicide attempt, and who changed his life. In the dedicatory epigraph Aragon wrote:”They said Laura was somebody Else” the printing of the capital letter E make a possible equation between Laura and Else, or Laura and Elsa. Loose as issued, one of first 25 numbered copies of the American edition limited in 125 copies, (total edition 350 copies). The Portfolio reproduces 11 paintings on paper of Pablo Picasso, from the series: la joie de vivre, Antibes August/September 1946, plus the frontispiece that was especially made by Picasso for this edition; in addition this portfolio, as one of the first 25 copies, contain a lithograph in 10 colors executed by Mourlot after an inedited drawing by Picasso. Printed on velin pur Chiffon d’Arches paper, and preserved in the original linen portfolio folder. Prints are reproduced in the original paintings format, and the dimensions of the portfolio are: 26.25''h x 20.25''w inches (65 x 50cm). Linen folder and prints are in very good condition.
