Luigi Mainolfi was born in Rotondi (Valle Caudina), Italy in 1948.

After graduating from the Accademia di Belle Arti of Naples, he moved to Turin.
In  1970, ”Arte Povera”, the most innovative artistic movement in Italy, began and Mainolfi’s work became centered on the analysis of his own body and on gestures, using performance as a vehicle of expression.
The 1980's were marked by radical changes in his artistic thinking.  Mainolfi manifested a coherent personal style that involved sculpture made from nature’s materials -- clay, chalk, and volcanic rock -- as well as cast bronze. The artist aims to recast the act of making sculpture, using the earth’s “origins” as a starting point.  Through his sculpture, Mainolfi mixed elements of past popular culture with the memory of his own artistic identity.

GIUSEPPE MARANIELLO - Born in Napoli Italy 1945

Giuseppe Maraniello is an Italian artist who lives and works in Milan and in Europe.  Through a varied and multiform search, that  foresees the cohabitation of the most disparate precious and poor materials; warm woods, resins and waxes and cold metals, the artist exalts the value of the opposite, which is his recurrent motive and his point of departure for the attainment of a perfect artistic equilibrium.
The choice to present painting and sculpture in this show is in fact inspired by the apparent distance between these two disciplines.
Maraniello proposes an art that mirrors the silent searching of the soul.
In these works, he balances on the thin line of demarcation between appearance and truth, between the concrete physicality of the art and the most impalpable spirituality.
